So, I love Tanaka Farms! It’s one of my favorite things to do here and they have activities all year around. Pumpkin Patch, Christmas Holidays and lots of other things if you check out their website http://www.tanakafarms.com
But my favorite thing to do here is the strawberry tour. You start by going on a hayride around the farm and learning about all of the fruits and veggies they grow here. You and your kids also get samples along the way and I was absolutely AMAZED that my picky 4-year-old tried a raw green onion, giant carrot, raw baby boc choy, celery, and a few other random items! They made it fun by telling the kids that everybody gets to try it and if you don’t like it then you just throw it over the wagon wheels and it goes back into the soil/ farm.
Anyway, you end up at the strawberry farm and everybody has their own basket to fill up! The rules are that while you are picking you can eat as many strawberries as you wish! Then you can fill up the box as full as possible ( so long as the lid closes ) The strawberries are the best we have ever tasted and they have ZERO pesticides so you can eat them right off the vine!
When to go? They only offer these tours in the Springtime so make sure you check the website first. You don’t need a reservation either – just show up 15 minutes before the tour starts. Highly recommend for anybody older than 2 years old. I left the baby at home with Dad for this one so we could have a special mom & daughter day out 🙂
