Kona Restaurants
1. Huggo's on the rocks
While this is certainly a popular spot, it will always have a place on our list! Huggo’s just creates that perfect island vibe you are looking for by giving you the perfect sunset and ocean views and live music every day at 5 pm. I especially like bringing my kids here because they can play in the sandy area and listen to the band instead of sitting at the table. The food is super casual and comes from a food small truck on the premises. Keep it simple and you won’t be disappointed!
Kona Restaurants
The best sushi and happy hour on the island! This small joint packs a big punch. It’s tucked away in the Keauhou shopping center and doesn’t look like much from the outside. However, the locals know about this place and it’s packed every single night. Happy starts at 4 pm and if you don’t arrive by 4:30 you probably won’t get a table! The sushi is half price and the drinks are incredible as well! If you like sushi, this is an absolute must! Also, they do take reservations, but not for happy hour!

3. Mi Taqueria Potosina
A very tiny takeout spot you’ll find in the charming little town of Holualoa. The place is so small it’s easy to miss, so you’ll have to look for the post office and it’s right next door. They have the best authentic Mexican food on the island. We like to get takeout here and then eat at the park near by!

4. Magics Grill
We just love magics! This is one place I don’t like bringing our kids because you actually have to sit at your table and there’s no room to run around. However, Magics has an incredible ocean view, tiki torches, and all-around good vibes! The food is so delicious and the prices are not bad either!
Have Breakfast at Papa Konas They even have rainbow unicorn french toast! Read more here

One of my favorite places for a casual lunch on the harbor. Loved by adults and our kids alike it’s one spot that pleases everyone! The prices are great, the food is delicious and it’s super convenient after you get off a dive boat and your looking for an ice-cold beer 🙂
The best takeout Chinese food on the island! You won’t be coming here for the ambiance, but if you grab the takeout you can certainly have a picnic with a view anywhere else!
8. Shaka tacos
Shaka tacos is so good and it’s one of our favorite places to bring guests when visiting. It’s located in captain cook and is a perfect pit stop before or after snorkeling at two-step. The menu is small but make sure you get tacos since that is what they are known for! And when you fall in love with the mango habanero salsa you can now buy a jar to bring home with you!
The best Thai food ever! Follow them on Facebook to find out where they will be and when. It’s usually a weekend thing, but it’s delicious and you will be happy you found him!
Rays on the bay is as fancy as it gets down here in Kona. Located in the Sheraton hotel, with easy parking and breathtaking views! They have an amazing chef, live music, and great ambiance for a date or celebration dinner.
